How do you support your tomatoes?

I use canes too, and tie a loop around the cane and tomato plant as it gets bigger. Works fine for me.

I was thinking about making cylinders out of pig netting KC.
How tall do you make them for indeterminate varieties?
If we roll them so that the circumference is the short end we could make them as tall as we like, but that would give them a diameter of just under a foot. Is that enough space for a full sized plant?

The plastic/bubblewrap would be a wonderful bonus.

It's something I've never actually done, just seen photos and read about it. I've watched videos on you tube of how to make them -been a long winter I would think that the cage would need to be nearly as tall as you grow them. A foot -14 inches would prob be about the right diameter.

canes, and those twirly wirly metal canes. They did really well last year, any bits that didn't wind round were tied on, and the string didn't slip because the metal canes have grooves all the way up. They withstood all the wind in the garden too.

6 foot canes - I could only get 8 foot ones at Wilcos, so had to cut them down to get em in the GH

I used to just use normal canes but like Taff I've got some of those twirly metal canes which are much more robust & look interesting too while you're waiting for your toms to shoot up them!

Decided I need a good highish shelf in the GH house so fix a 8` piece of 75mm x 8mm timber from end to end. That gave me a great shelf then as a after thought drilled holes in it to take my canes. No tomato wobble now.

Metal, green plastic covered canes from B&Q they have them in 3'-4'-6' sizes. Worked well for me last year, bought some more last week.
