Hi we have a boggy corner of the allotment and wondered if there were any thirsty plants which would dry out the soil and enjoy the environment.

How would this help the boggy area .. I'm confused sorry. If I make the pond with a liner won't it just make the surrounding area just as boggy ? Thanks for the repliesOriginally posted by rustylady View PostJust read your other post about wanting a pond. Why not kill two birds with one stone and put your pond in the boggy area?

It won't help the boggy area, but unless you can drain it you will have to live with it, so putting the pond there seems a good option. It will encourage wildlife, and you can plant round the edges with semi-aquatic plants for the animals and insects.Originally posted by The Jones's View PostHow would this help the boggy area ..
