Peas..

I got some early onward pea seeds a while back which i assumed were a climbing variety but ive just done a search on the vine and turns out theyre a dwarf variety.. i wouldnt have bought them if it said they were a dwarf variety on the packet so can anyone recommend a good climbing pea?

Telephone from Real Seeds is okay, as long as there's no drought Mine were utterly pathetic this year until it started raining in the middle of summer, and then they decided to put some effort in. Still a fairly pathetic yield for the size of them though.

My best performer in the climbing peas this year was 'Gladstone', but you'll have to join HSL to get them (see link in Zazen's signature) or, I might put some on the Swap board if there's enough when they're all dried out.

i was going to join the HSL earlier in the year but ive got all my seeds now.. well apart from peas and not really got room for anything else so i might have to join next year

My current faves for best tasting climbing beans for eating fresh are gladstone (thank you sarz! ) or alderman.
