Oh, it's so hairy!!

I was soo pleased when my chinese cabbage grew much faster than the chard and kale that I planted BUT it's hairy! Is it supposed to be or did I get a batch of the wrong seeds in the packet? I can't imagine what it will be like to eat it - I thought that it was a salad leaf, should it be cooked maybe?

Are you sure you haven't sown Comfrey?

The seed packet was from Lidl, it definitely says Chinese Cabbage. I thought that it would be like that I buy in the supermarket.

I grew some last year that was hairy! Ended up in the compost

It's taking up valuable growing space so I've composted it. - A bit more room for some chard now.

Mine wasn't from Lidl (not sure of variety, possibly from Kings?) but was also a bit hairy but cooked up lovely in a stir fry
