Turnip bolted - edible?

I just harvested some Turnip - a couple of them had bolted. The ones that had bolted (or were in the process of) were rough in texture - I had a hard time ripping the leaves off the top too.. Are these edible still? I've included a pic of a 'normal' one from the harvest too:

I wouldn't bother trying to eat the bolted ones. They will be hard and woody

Ugly thing though, not sure if I can bring my self to do it ;P It certainly tasted really sharp raw.
