    Great...thanks all!

    Lots of ideas...think i shall do mix of green manures, lettuce and beetroots....see what happens!

        You may find the heat inhibits germination: peas are a cool weather crop.

        To deter mice, just chit/sprout them, as you would sprouting seeds. Then sow as normal
