brandywine flower

I know I might sound a bit daft, but is the Brandywine tomato flower huge in comparison to normal tomato vaieties?
It's the first time I've grown it and I've never seen a tmoato flower like it!

Are they fused like this?
If so the fruits will be fused..
( I've never grown them- so don't know what is 'normal' for that type.)

If so, nip it out.

Why nip out the first flower?

Or just nip it out because it is a mutant?

The first flower on some are mutantish so take up so much energy - whereas I've found if you nip it out the plant will then produce the next flush really soon after. If they are ALL like this, then Baggy is just going to have to grin and bear it.

Why would a mutantish flower use up more energy than two normal flowers? And if you get double the size fruit, isn't that then OK?

I left mine on cos Flum said so The forming fruit does look well mutant like though.

It's only because I can't resist seeing how it comes out. I'm sure you'd get more of the normal ones if you took it out!

I take mine as they just sit there otherwise. I also take the first pepper and chili flower; before it opens. I find that a few days later they put out 4 other flowers and I am prepared to forego one for 4.....

But that's just how I do things!
