My sweetheart melons are still on the kitchen windowsill because the packet said they needed higher temps to thrive. But they've starting growing the tendril-ly bits that they use to wrap around things for support. They are about 10 inches tall, ish.
Should I move them outside to the greenhouse now, even though it's not exactly steady temperature wise? I am worried that they are going to end up anchoring onto kitchen implements etc! I could cover them in fleece, would this be enough to keep them warm enough?
Eta, sorry, this probably should have gone in the fruit section!

I'm keeping one inside and will be providing a cane and string trellis for it in the porch. The other I'll give a temporary cane with short canes cross ways to make a T. That should keep it happy for an extra week or two until temperatures outside are up that little bit more.
