Sweetcorn Seedlings

I have got some sweetcorn I have grown from seed and are now about 2" tall ... they have been in a cold frame and I now wondered if they be ok to out in to the bed now or should I pot them on first - we are in Grimsby East coast and although its windy it not too cold and no frost for a good month ... I could always cover with a fleece ... sorry for being a newb and confused any advice much appreciated

I think you are going to have to pot them on in some big pots - it is way too early to plant out. We had a frost here on Wednesday night and we are next to a giant radiator of global warming.

Your a bit early...what are they in? should be fine in 3" pots for a while yet....they don't much like repotting.

Wait another few weeks then set out with a cut off waterbottle over each as a cloche.

Haven't even sown mine yet Mine won't be going in until end of April beginning of May. They might be okay but I'm sure more experienced grapes will be along soon.

Might be worth sowing some more in a few weeks in in cas any of these you plant out get caught by a late frost or snails etc.

Mine are in the greenhouse in loo rolls and seem to be ok, fingers crossed.

I'll be sowing mine in the next two to three weeks in rootrainers, that way i hopefully wont have to re pot them, just pop em in the ground. All good intentions and all that !

No gigleypants. These are plastic, and with a bit of luck can be reused year after year.
Great for these types of veggies.
Just open them up and drop the plant straight in to the soil with no root disturbance.
