It also depends where your propagator is. Mine is a small electric one (seed tray size) and it lives on my kitchen windowsill (indoors and window is double glazed) so as soon as I have good germination they get moved from the propagator onto same windowsill to toughen up.

As per earlier posts I'm now taking the lid off during the day. Even though it's chilly they all seem to be doing ok thus far.

I asked a similar question before, so now as soon as mine have popped up and broken the surface I move them onto a south facing window sil.. haven't had a problem with any of mine done this way.
