Do you all have propagators? Are they essential?

I have a spreadsheet too, but I havent filled in the sowing dates as I'm a bit unsure. I'm waiting on a greenhouse, so was kinda holding off until that gets assembled

I don't. A poly bag is quite sufficient. If you want to buy one later by all means do so but they aren't necessary. Also, I think so many seedlings are killed by being left in heated props too long.

I wipe mine out as soon as they pop their heads up.

I'm not sure anything is essential - but in my view a propagator will help speed up germination.

When you say you haven't filled in the sowing dates on your sheet, do you mean you don't know when to sow?

Basically, yes. Last year I waited til the end of April/beginning of May. I was frightened that the cold would kill everything off. Now I'm reading about what everyone is doing and wondering if I could do a few things on the windowsill or should I just wait on my greenhouse?
