  • Burro climbing french beans

Has any grape tried growing Burro D'ingenoli climbing french beans,? They were a recommendation from Monty Don as one of the best, but try as I might I have sown two years running and find even germinating a problem with them. I thought I'd have a last attempt this year but the seed company I normally get them from doesn't list them this year so perhaps its not just me!!! Any advice would be really grateful Thanks

I've never grown them myself, but because I was curious about them after reading your post, I did a google search. Most of the sites I looked at said that either they were no longer available or were listed as dwarf beans and not climbing beans.

But I do hope that you manage to get some - perhaps another grape on here has grown them and has spare seed.

Burro means donkey, doesn't it? Don't know what that implies about the bean?

Well they were very stubborn about germinating. If I manage to find them again I'll have one last try and then put it down to experience if they fail yet again.
