Random Planting - Ummm

Not sure if Uncle Snadger will approve.......

After my success this Spring with my overwintering Feltham Firsts I decided to plant a packet and a half this year. Inspired by Snadger's randomness I scattered some peas and poked them in. Sod this I thought it's gonna take yonks so.....

I threw the whole packet over the bed, got my rake and raked them in

I've got lots of self-sown purple podded coming up - have decided to leave them and see what happens over the winter...

You could always use a few as pea shoots for a winter salad?

It's the non-adhereance to spacing that will be interesting.

I found my leeks yesterday as well after clearing all my beans. Somehow I have to fit in 200 onions around them and in various other 'spaces' in the garden.

Nowt wrong with a bit of extreme randomness!

That's what I meant with using as pea shoots - if they crop up somewhere TOO random, or if the spacing is too cluttered you can always just curb them a bit, but not waste them! I like the idea anyway, let us know how it goes?

Hey. I'm a gardening hero. For years I've been telling people to ignore the packet. Just plough the fields and scatter the good seed etc. Great. Just go for it.
