Chili problem

My chili plant seems to be developing a wee problem.
The leaves are curling at the tips, going brown and then dying off.
I have had a look to see if this is a symptom of some disease or other, but have so far been unable to find out anything.
The plant is indoors, on a windowsill, and is watered lots when it gets a little dry.
Any thoughts?

It's possible that it's getting too cold at night on the windowsill. Behind the curtains. next to the glass, it can get quite chilly if it's 0c or lower overnight. Try moving it into the room at night when you close the curtains. Also, they really hate standing in cold, wet compost, so try reducing the watering, and only do it in the morning so that the compost isn't soggy and cold overnight.
Finally, it may be a variety that doesn't overwinter well, and the shortening days might be making it give up. What variety is it?

Could also be not enough daylight hours causing it to shed leaves or even something like spider mites (quite difficult to see with naked eye)

My over-wintering chillies naturally lose their leaves in the winter, even indoors. I wouldn't worry about it. They'll come back in the spring.
Keep the compost on the dryish side now.

Almost certainly the shortening daylight doing it. Mine do the same, except my Cherry Bomb which has just started fruiting again . I usually cut mine back by about half (opinion varies as to how much) when they start shedding. But as Kernowyon says, do get the magnifying glass out and check for the dreaded spider mite, especially if it is warm.
