80 odd quid for 10 plants and 6 packets of very basic seeds! Doesn't look competitively priced to me, ask Pippa credits or not.

I think you have got this wrong - if you add up how many plants you get for each veg type you select you get 101 plants for �84. I'm sure they will be great plants (why would someone like PG sell you anything else?!) and some weekly advice from Pippa plus the opportunity to ask her questons has got to be a great starting point if you want to maximise your chances of producing a great crop. I'm going to give it a go!

Sorry... doesn't sound appealing to me either, when especially you then have to buy extra credit to ask Pippa when you have additional questions. Mhmmm.... grapevine sounds like much better holistic advice for free, and seeds you could get via the seed swap and the plants for a similar price from other online sites.

In all honesty, I've had such a disasterous year with brassicas and over wintering crops, that I have resorted to buying a 'kit' of plants from Vegetable plants available mail order from vegetableplantsdirect over 500 varieties available from heritage to modern F1 varieties which are due to be delivered soon. I hope this is the only year I have to do this, but I think the options available were better than those shown on the PG website, and I felt the price was reasonable for the kit I chose. I haven't received the kit yet, so can't comment on the quality of the plants, but they can't be any worse than the ones I grew!!

Actually if you were just starting out, or had limited time/room then the price of ready grown plants & seeds (which includes p&p/vat) doesn't seem too bad - plus you get personal advice from Pippa!

I'm not a Pippa affiliate, just think that different things appeal to some & not others. (Oh hang on I do have Pippa's 'Organic Kitchen Garden' book which was one of the 1st gardening books we bought when starting out GYOing 10 years ago! )

Hmmm... It wouldn't be for me, although I'm not averse to buying in plants. I just couldn't justify spending that much on them just for some extra growing advice - I can get that here It's a bloomin' good idea though, hope she does well with it because I like her

Having seen the price of plants in the Garden Centres I am thinking of doing a few extra trays each time and taking them down the car boot sale. All I have to loose is the cost of seed and a bit of compost.
