I am having a great tomato year: Early sowed Gardeners Delight in January indoors, planted outside in late April, in so far have had 5lbs of great tasting toms from 10 plants, with vast numbers still on the vine in various ripening stages. No artificial feeding either, just urine diluted 10:1 every month or so. The south facing wall they are trained up is a great boon.

Only issue so far has been quite few split fruit, either over ripe or thin skinned I guess. I pick those off and use them quickly for cooking and sauces. The mice have had a few of the lower hanging trusses too.

I have saved seeds already and really cant wait for next years sowing! Roll on January 2010!

in Greenhouse: Sungold, early ripening and gorgeous.
Cossack, large fruits and very heavy trusses. Good flavour.
      Shirley, good but not brilliant.
      Roma, just turning now.

Outside Tumbling tom red, lots of fruit, but only a few ripened so far.
Another orange tom outside, (lost label) bit tougher than sungold, not quite s sweet but still good.

Next year, Sungold definitely, (Wyevale sale)
A delicious meaty plum tomato from Lidl I'm going to try, and hope it's not F1
      Maybe a yellow pear type.
      Sweet Olive.

I like tumbling tom - grow in pots on patio and they seem to survive quite well - though this year the red is very slow to ripen
Sungold (bought in as small plant as I killed my seedlings!) - reasonable yield but a bit too sweet for me
Black Russian - tried one yesterday, very bland, disappointing
        Shirley - no fruit
Gartenperle in baskets - taste OK but not special
        H&T - waiting to ripen

Fingers crossed I'll have a greenhouse next year!
