      a selection of pumpkins and methods

      You can see a few different growing methods on our site.
      1) Planting pumpkin in a compost heap seems to encourage lots of leaf, not much fruit.
      2) even with extra heat (glass surrounds) he's still only got one pumpkin
      3) this one is too big even for the wheelbarrow (ground in the ground)
      4) I prefer something I can carry! Gold Nugget

        and they don't have to be orange

        1) Crown Prince (from a grape swap)
        2) baby butternut ... ye gads they are slow growing
        3) Bonbon F1 green pumpkin ... this did really well

          I can happily report that our pumpkins were suitably Spooked up at the weekend, and we wil have soup for about 3 years!

            yes my children were very happy with the pumpkins, and they helped carve them very well........im glad everyone else had a good season for pumpkins. xxx

                It put me in hospital with a load of fake blood coming from my finger - oopps sorry it was real blood!
