Round here 2 years ago in the summer floods lots of elder shrubs in the hedgerwos drowned. There are still gaps full of dead sticks. Seems sad.

I've found that my potatoes in containers still need to be watered, even with all this rain! It hits the foliage and runs off and doesn't even make it into the container!

Mine are like this, but I had been told before this awful deluge that the containers always needed water because the plants acted like umbrellas when it rained, so the foliage gets a watering, but the container doesn't. Sun's been out here since about 4 this afternoon, so I hope that's a sign the rain has gone away for a while at least!
