Random mushrooms!

Hi

I have random mushrooms (could be toadstools I suppose) popping up all over the lottie. Anyone know why this is?

Have you used bark chippings for paths? Or manure containing wood shavings?

Warm damp weather encourages fuiting bodies (mushrooms/toadstools) to appear. If the plot is well mulched I would be more concerned if mushrooms did not appear.

Yes I got them as well.

The local stable had used their tree shredding as bedding for the horses this year so my horse muck came complete with its own fungus.

I would love to know if they are edible.......

Ahh - so nothing to worry about then. I dont know what was in the manure (apart from what should be in there of course!) but I have wood chip paths but they dont encroach on the veg beds though
