pepper dilema

Not sure what to do, I have a small sweet pepper plant approx 6 inches in height which has developed flower buds on. I am delighted that it has done so but now am concerned that the plant is too small and that I may be better nipping off the flowers so that it puts more effort into growing taller

Why would you want to do that.?
Do you realize how long it takes a plant to come to the stage where it produces flowers.
If you nip them off you might be waiting a long time for the next lot.
Size is not everything you know

It does depend what you want from your plant. If you want a quick fix but will be happy enough if the pods are quite small, then leave it. Although it is still a viable option to remove all the buds and repot into a larger container, it could pay dividends when youre harvesting nice big pods in a couple of months. If you dont repot though it will just keep trying to flower without getting much bigger.

I'm a bit confused here Suziqnewby. Not sure what you're trying to achieve here - big plants or peppers.
If you're plants are only 6" high then they are probably in small pots. If that's the case then move them into 9" pots and leave them alone.
If they're in big pots then do nothing.
Just feed and water and wait for the peppers. They will do plenty.

Leave it alone. The fruits will take ages to fully form and then ripen by which time your plant will grow into a big and stong plant.

All my pepper plants have at least 10 flowers on and some of my early types have 6 - 7 fruit as well as another 8 -10 flowers. Last year I harvested 18 peppers from one plant.

Thanks for all your advice I shall be repotting, feeding and leaving the flowers well alone. You see this will teach me not to go to other sites and look at their advice given to others.

i have mine in 5 inch pots and i have a flower on each and lots of litle buds - i have a red pepper and a green pepper plant.

i will be potting these on tonight as i can see the roots through the bottom

5" pots here too, lots of flowers and around 8" high with tiny fruit on 1/2 now.
