Is it too late to grow potatos in bags???

I've just harvested the last swift potatos out of a bag which has been kept in my backyard. I've got a few king edward seed potatos left over from the ones I put into the allotment. Is it too late to plant them in the gro bag?? Will there still be enough time for them to grow properly??

Only one way to find out! Plant them. All you might lose is a bag of compost, you may gain a big bag of lovely fresh spuds, gotta be worth the risk.

I am going to keep sowing my 'pentland javelin' 1st earlies seed potatoes at regular intervals into large pots all summer. I don't have room for a main crop and i have just a small patch for seconds, so i will keep on sowing the 1st earlies up until August in pots to keep us a supply of continual cropping without the glut effect.

Wren,how do you keep seed tatties till August?
I planted my maincrop ones exactly 2 weeks ago and they are just popping their heads

I will be sowing my seed spuds up untill the end of september, I keep them in a clear fronted beer fridge at around 5 degrees it slows the growth right down and as it has a clear front the roots dont go too leggy and thin too quick, obviously by the last sowing they are thin and long but they still grow well when planted in tubs in the greenhouse.
And ther is fresh spuds for christmas.

I put my well chitted Vivaldi seed potatoes in old fence paint buckets yesterday(thoroughly cleaned of course). They were a bargain from Homebase at 50p for 30 seed potatoes in the reduced section. They had also chitted nicely whilst being left on the shelf in the shop.

I remember some folk last year saying that they kept their seed spuds in the salad drawer of their fridge until they were ready to go out.

I keep mine in the salad draw in the fridge they sit quite happy in there until it's time for me to pop them in a bucket.
