    Hi Anita,

I haven't read the seed packet just put it in my seed tin. Doesn't it say on it? I usually sow my sprouts in Feb/March, depends when I've got room.

T&M's catalogue just has a general heading for sprouts:-

"Sow under glass Feb/early April harvest Oct-Dec"

So I wasn't far out for once

Normaly when GYO gives away seeds then they also print a page or two on "what to do" with your free seeds. I am sure I saw it in the Feb issue.
Go back and have a flick through.

I found that article - it tells you how to plant them, but not when!
I'm going to go with early March as I have a week off before i start my new job!

I went and looked up Sprouts and the books in question say:
Mid March till Mid April, outside in a nursery seedbed or in 9cm pots to be transplanted in their final position May till June.

Surely these seeds are for growing young shoots for eating after a few days in stir fries etc like bean sprouts. If you grew them in the kitchen you could eat them all year.

                      Purple sprouts

                      Lesley,
They're brussel sprouts as in purple variety and not bean. lol. Nice image though.

                        Brussels Sprout 'Falstaff'

I was a little surprised to think that the seeds GYO magazine had supplied were with out growing instructions on them, so I got my seeds out of the fridge and sure enough the instructions are written on the back of the packet.
Highlighted with red bullet points is Sow from mid March to early May and Harvest November to January.
