It's raining!

Lots and lots of rain here. much needed to fill up the almost empty water butts

I've fleeced some of the plants outside, just wondering if I should go and remove them in case the fleece gets filled with water and pushes them down breaking the leaves?

Yeah theres a nice steady amount of rain here too and its lovely and warm outside, hoping this will give all my plants a nice boost!

yep filled up the water butt today, its like a dust bowl around my area so be gratefull of abit of rain after all the seed planting I've done this week

Still no rain worth mentioning here, just a slight drizzle for about an hour. I've held off watering thoroughly for the past few days in the hope we will get a decent downpour. Fingers crossed that we get it in the next 24 hours.

Yes, rain here too! Its been so dry and windy, I've had to resort to the hose recently. Nice drop we are having!!
Lets hope it knows when to stop, and doesn't rain for the rest of the summer like previous years!

It's been fine drizzling all yesterday, last night and today so far. the kind that gets you soaking wet in 10 minutes. I love it!!
And err..was wondering why my cobbled together water butts weren't filling that fast, then i realised I'd angled the pipe upwards so none of the rain was actually going down the pipe, luckily noticed it last night before too much disappeared down the sewer.

Have to go and check my allotment today, not sure what that terrible wind has done to my fleece covered brassicas But it will great to start digging again, last sunday it was a nightmare, ground was so hard finally we gave up. Ready with my scaffold netting to throw over my brassicas, excited

It's raining!

Yes, we've all had the rain, but to answer your question - I put some short sticks under the fleece, (making sure it reached the ground, for safety.) That way I was able to make sure the fleece didn't squash my seedlings. Don't know if it would work in REALLY heavy rain.

Well, Selfraising, I think you got your rain last night. Here in Godalming (8 miles away) it chucked it down so I expect you got some too. Just about to go and check all my babies!

Just a very light mizzle here so am going to go and do a bit on the lottie. Don't mind getting damp, just don't like it when it drips down the back of the neck. Need to get a bit of ground dug for courgettes and squashes.
