Today I Mostly Harvested......

  • In the last few days we've had sprouts, kale, chard, lettuce then today's was parsnips, leeks and herbs to go into a sausage casserole.
    Location....East Midlands.

          • swede, leeks and parsnips. Spuds, carrots and onions already at home so a nice pot of soup in mind

            • Leeks, sprouts, parsnips and carrots. Carrots unfortunately have carrot fly, but as they are so large (some of them are 3" across at the shoulders) the affected bits can be scraped or cut off, leaving the inside fine to use.

              Getting a bit bored with leeks now... starting to yearn for peas and beans!

                              • Today I mostly harvested American Cress (made a fab 'watercress' soup) and Cavalo Nero which is growing in the polytunnel and has some nice new shoots. Also has white fly though!
