Morrisons Flower buckets for veg?

Most of you probably already know this, but today whilst trying to save time and 'leccy when drilling holes in the MFP, Itried to drill two pots at once, Result: the inner pot split and cracked badly, just thought I'd post in case anyone else tries it. thats a whole 12.375p wasted.

I make holes in mine by whacking a nail in with a hammer. I found the quality of the buckets varies a lot, some crack and others are dead easy to make a hole in. I tried using a hand drill, but it was really difficult getting the drill bit out of the hole again. I'm not known for my patience with inanimate objects!

Make sure the drill bit is sharp. Dont put a lot of pressure on the drill. Let the bit do the drilling. Too much pressure will push the plastic in the the rotating action will cause it to split as theres no support.

Best and quickest way to do it is to out a piece of wood behind where you are drilling into to support the plastic. You'll have no probs drilling away then.

I got some from my local morrisons, they were doing 9 for a quid or something. Might pop in and see if they have more tomorrow.

D ont mess about with a drill use a hot skewer or an electric soldering iron much quicker and no risk of splitting

I found that too but if you have a reverse action on your drill just change to that and your drill bit should come out easily.
