Another Cucumber question

I to am growing cukes for the first time, also outdoor marketmore, it says on packet to remove growing tip when six leaves have formed ok so dumb question do i include the seed leaves or just proper leaves. Can't find much info on net except where to buy seeds from. Will be placing mine in a raised bed so how close together can i plant ?

I also just read that, I think I'm going to just include the true leaves, not sure about this pinching out though, I thought you were meant to let the sideshoots grow? At least that what the veg book I read said. And male flowers are confusing too! Hmmm

Really? Thats what I thought initially, but the Hessayson book says otherwise!
