Mine haven't come up at all - I planted them about a month ago. I guess it would be more obvious if mice had taken them (ground dug up a bit, etc?), so maybe it's just been a bit too cold for them. Will try sprouting them first.

I start mine off indoors until they have shown themselves as last year we lost all ours to the micers. I put eight to a square pot. Once they are about 4 to 6 inches high they are hardened off for about a week and then out they go. Haven't had any problems with them this year, all have put on growth after the transplant and they didn't seem to mind the cold. I think they do better with a cold start. Going to cover mine with a viole curtain once they start to flower to protect against the pea moth.

I sowed some about a month ago, no show. Yesterday I put down a few more, I'd left them overnight in damp kitchen paper and about three of them had tiny sprouts, so I'm hoping for the best.Originally posted by glenisita View PostMine haven't come up at all - I planted them about a month ago. They were peas I saved from one of last year's plants. My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

don't over estimate the little monkeys! they had all mine last year, so this year i've planted mine in paper pots, then just put the whole thing in the ground so there is no root disturbance.Originally posted by glenisita View PostMine haven't come up at all - I planted them about a month ago. i put my mange tout in to my plot a couple of weeks ago when they were about 4 to 5 inches tall. Despite slug traps only 2 plants left at the last time i looked.
I have sown more in modules but forgot a label for them , so now im awaiting germination so i can reconise them from my sweet corn and beans also forgotten to label.a good put down line to use !
If having brains was a fatal disease, you would be the only survivor.
