I'm running out of space!

Still have tomtoes, runner beans, courgettes and rasberry canes to plant...

hmm..do you think the rest of teh family would notice if extended the veggie patch a little each week?

Know what you mean i have no more room at the inn, the green house is now full and i still have things to pot on, where am i going to put it all. That dining table in the front room looks like an ideal proposition!!

have now appropriated an old recycling box which should house a courgette.

Space in flower beds for at least one tomato plant!

I got Mr H to dig another bed at the side of the lawn. Now got peas in it. I never ever at any point actually said it was a flower bed!

Tell me about it! I have approx 1.5m x 1m to fit in runners, borlotto beans, courgettes, corn and pumpkins!

Containers are your friend, Hamsterqueen! most of my veg is in containers this year and they are so much more successful - the slugs take longer to find them and I'm guarenteed a decent depth for my parnsips and carrots. Ask at your local nurseries/garden contractors for their old tree tubs. They're ace (and free!).

i'm exactly the same, lots to put out and no where to go! but as sluglobber says, pots are the thing...have a more than enough of these also. But methinks the flower border is going to be reduced somewhat for next year!

lol, I did that last year - just a little 6' x 4' bed then went to the grocers to pick up the shallots to plant in it only to find when I returned that a cross had been hammered in one end of the bed with a RIP The Garden written on it .

She did like the shallots though

I have just had a brainwave or two

an old split recycling bin (about 2 foot deep)and a Belfast sink ear marked for courgettes, space for 2 more either side of small apple tree.

AND as I haven't got round to planting clematis around my 2nd wooden "oil derrick" support I shall have white flowered runner beans and red climbing nasturtiums, if anyone comments I shall of course point out that I don't want to commit too much money to clematis if they are not going to grow, so I have only planted one pair as a trial


Then there are 8 Morrisons flower buckets still to be filled.............

I've just realised I've run out of room in my new herb bed, so I'm going to plant in some box boxes I have and they can go on the decking when it's made.

I have no flower beds in the back garden, it's all ferns and acers down the shaded side and herbs and veg the other side! Apart from a few random flowers in pots. No space for flowers

I grew runner beans and climbing beans in in tubs last year; they were really succesful. My one bit of advice is not to use 100% multicompost as it dries out quite easily.

I too am struggling for space so I've decided that purple podded peas have such beautiful flowers they are entitled to go into the flower patch and as borlottis have wonderfully pretty pods they too get classed as decorative

I think my mum's garden is going to 'benefit' from all the things I can't fit into mine! I have taken over managing her garden this year, so her veggie patch will be ideal for things I can't fit in :-)
