Went to get a couple of those tunnels but they didn't have any. Asked the bloke there and he mumbled something about them putting them out on Monday and they'd run out. Pointed out that the catalogue said they were for sale today and he just shrugged. Bit annoyed really as I wanted to put some peas under one. Are they any good?

No not reallyOriginally posted by Alison View PostWent to get a couple of those tunnels but they didn't have any. they arent 2m wide as advertised, at least not when you bend the frames. I found the frame bits didnt bend evenly into an arch so its a bit wonky. One of the bits snapped when I bent it and the plastic is really thin.
However they were only a fiver and will hopefully warm the soil a bit for planting my spuds. Now youre going to tell me I dont need to warm the soil aren't you??

Bah, obviously my local lidl is much smaller than most of the others - it had a small selection of stuff on Tues, but no plants - or perhaps I just missed them, it's always laid out a bit wierdly! Got some good cheap seeds though, so can't complain too much. Steering well clear of rotavators after Lynda's story
Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

i had a look at hat the tunnels, and was a bit concerned the plastic had holes in?? didn't think it was much use lol .... they have samoe metal framed ones in wilkies, i think they were about 6 lookerd much better
and the rotavator is fliipping brill (the assistant might not be
).... i have done 2/3 of the garden down to over a foot deep in 2 days ..... it took me longer than that to make 2 small beds last year with hand tools, and the soils all lovely and crumbly

neither could i, son lent me the money for it , mostly cos he knew he'd have to do most of the digging, cos i really struggle with that .... but i've managed to use the rotavator myself so he's decided it was money well lent lol .... he's still gonna have to dig the pond though

Just looked on the web site, they do look pretty good, think I'll be off there in the morning, conveniently at 3m long they'll just fit nicely on the new beds I've been digging. Thanks for the heads up.Originally posted by lynda66 View Posti had a look at hat the tunnels, and was a bit concerned the plastic had holes in?? didn't think it was much use lol .... they have samoe metal framed ones in wilkies, i think they were about 6 lookerd much better

Bought two coldframes and got them up yesterday on my lottie. They are really good for 22.50 and a doddle to put together. Went back this morning and put longer pegs in though, last night storm tipped one! Also bought the self watering pots, think they might be just the trick for some chillis!

Bugger, just found out that you can only get them online so a trip to the shop was a total waste of timeOriginally posted by Alison View PostJust looked on the web site, they do look pretty good, think I'll be off there in the morning, conveniently at 3m long they'll just fit nicely on the new beds I've been digging.
