    I wouldn't use VERY titchy ones for seed myself. Hens' egg size is optimum. They won't have enough oooomph to build a big plant - which you need for many roots and many spuds.

      i just figured i'd see what happens, i have loads of decent sized spuds too, just figured if i got a couple of spuds it's better than chucking em out

          I thought the ones I left would be rotted by now but after reading this am looking forward to digging them up. Had to BUY a bag of potatoes last week.
          You know you're a hard nosed gardener when you pull the weeds from others plots!

              Emptied out a compost bin a week or so ago and found enough huge spuds for two night teas. The largest one was hollow in the middle but I still got some useable spud from it.
