No. The black, which once was on the inside looking out but is now on the outside looking in will commboobulate all the light that is between the wave lengths of 260 angstrom units and 4003 angstrom units leading to a diffusion of congromulated wavelengths within the visible spectrum.

In other words, the black surface stops it.

I got a few big plastic pots off of Freecycle....may be worth a look on your local site.
Car boot sales are starting up around here now, you might find something there. I bought a plastic laundry basket last week for 50p, I just drilled some wholes in it for drainage!
I also have a babies bath with lettuce growing in it!
You can find stuff anywhere!

Was going to add compost sacks too. If you do want to buy some, Wickes do some rubble bags work out about 25p each. Good and strong.

Just rung up one of our local tyre places to find out what they do with all their old tyres and they said they shred them. So I asked if I could have some and I can have as many as I want! Brilliant for us as the space in the scheme of my crop rotation has meant very little space for spuds this year!

Never thought of ringing a tyre place, might ring some, would be good for the kids at school to grow spuds in, thanks

I used those one year along with a dustbin and compost sacks.

blue bags did not perform as well as the compost bags. Dustbin OK but a long way down to look for spuds, especially if you have short little arms like me
