Used yesterday's nice weather to finally apply a second round of the peach curl fungicide. Also cut back the jasmine in the front garden that is threatening to strangle the roses.

Nice day, but I haven't done any 'proper' gardening, 'cos the ground and lawn are still like swamps.
Gave the beds in No2 greenhouse a third good soaking (did two yesterday), since they're raised 2' above ground level and hadn't had any water since October last year.
Washed the heated propagators in No1 greenhouse and moved the seedlings from the dining room table out to one of them and set it to 24°C.Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

Finished cutting back my stupidly overgrown laural shrub, I had to climb up into to it to reach the highest branchs, felt like being a kid again!
Moved all the prunings which I had laid over the rhubarb patch to find my rhubarb is begining to burst/sprout/shoot/unfurl, what do you call it?

All you busy people are making me very jealous
I've not done anything yet but sow a few seeds this year
.
I was surprised from some pics that OH took of our plot yesterday that even though we've had a tremendous amount of rain pretty much relentlessly for ages, the ground doesn't actually look quite as wet as it has in the past (albeit it was mostly covered with membrane for winter). Perhaps we're finally seeing improvement in our soil?
We've got a little sun poking out from behind a cloud forecast for Saturday so am hoping we can get in an hour or two of tidying up: some old annual flowers in particular look quite unsightly now
Hopefully there will be a keyholder around to open our Shed Shop as I'd like to get some compost & chicken manure pellets. I doubt anything will get done with them this weekend but I've got strawbs to move too & a lump of rhubarb to divide & shift before it gets too late..........best not start making a list here lol.
Location: SE Wales about 1250ft up

Tackled and defeated the second overgrown laurel. Goodness knows how long it will take me to snip up/shred/saw all these huge piles of prunings that are now it every part of the garden.
Mowed the lawns for the first time since last Autumn. It's nice to have some grass clippings to put on the compost again.Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
