Tomato woes

Well, yet again my hanging toms are turning yellow and scabby looking despite feed (recommended here) with Tomorite as last year I used comfrey. Growbag compost fed once a week. So why so shabby ?

Also, one of my good tom plants laden with fruit has snapped. Will it survive if I wrap the green velcro band around the stem tightly ?

Some of my dwarf tomatoes are going yellow too - it may be due to the hot weather and the fact that they are in pots. Determinate tomatoes do not live as long as indeterminate ones in any case. The fruit that is on them will still ripen.

You could try straightening and binding the broken stem, as the plant doesn't appear to be wilting above the break. It may or may not survive, probably depending on whether disease gets into the break or not, but it is worth a try.

Feeding once a week almost certainly isn't often enough for such small pots. They need at least twice a week.

OK, it's worth a punt as the plant hasn't wilted. Even if I can keep it going till the fruit ripen I'll be happy.
