    Wondering what fleece everyone uses?

    - for veg beds outside, we had frost last yr in September so need to think ahead, also for covering beds in winter as I'm going to try and grow a bit longer (may not work).

    - thinking of getting toms into gh sooner next year and fleecing as we get frosts til end of may/early June

    Thanks

I use 20gsm fleece, sometimes double or even triple layers both outside and in the greenhouse when it gets below freezing.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

Like Peanut said, double or even triple layers of fleece on really cold nights.
I also put a couple of layers of newspaper over the flee as well.
Keep in mind, it's not just about the cold...the light levels play a big part in growing strong plants.

I got some tubular fleece a couple of years ago that fits around large pots, just under a meter wide I think, but you get a long piece of it in the bag, unfold it & cut it into sections, really good for pots, just put a cane in the pot to tie it too like a pyramid shape. I used it for my late sowed rocket in pots in the autumn & I’ll do that this year just waiting to lift the main crop potatoes then I’ll sow seeds in those containers

I never use anything finer than 30g. gives good protection against frost and as suggested double up if hard frost forecasted and can be used for several years
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
