    It's how the pronunciation of words are getting changed nowadays, that I get annoyed with, usually by the news presenters, though many others follow suit

              The standard of English everywhere is deteriorating badly. I work in customer service, answering emails, and there are a lot of overseas customers. One email was so indecipherable that I replied asking the customer to write in his own language so that I could use Google translate. He replied angrily that he was English...

                    Now need to go and find out who Angela Rippon was/is and when she read the news

                      Calling an "h" "haitch" is mine. It's called a hypercorrection, to do with thinking you have to say the sound it makes. By that token we should perhaps call a "W" a "wubble-you"
