  • my mixed vegetable bed method.

I was going through some old picture took
and found this one. this how I plant all my planting beds one
year. I laid out what I wanted to plant where this one of several
pictures I took after I set the layout and planted seeds and plants.
each color Iced lolly stick got one seed. each color represented a different
type vegetable. I will post the full bed diagram if anyone is interested.

Thanks for taking the time to find & post that. I like making plans (though mine are never as detailed or exact as yours) but they somehow never get stuck to.

I love the coloured lollystick idea

the secret is making plan during the winter and sticking to the plan
          once you make it.
you can buy them in most craft stores or online
retailers. that sell crafts.the search term to
find them is "colored popsicle sticks"

Don’t you find that birds pull out the sticks or are they only there for a few days?
I’m not sure if it’s just me but blackbirds etc always have a great time removing my plant labels!

how many sticks to a bag?

it is likely cheaper my way
                      in packs 500

We call them lolly sticks over here, GH2. 100 for £1 is about the best price around in the shops. Online of course there is postage to add.
