Two more buckets of sweet potatoes, and a couple winter radishes.
I'm surprised it took this long to ripen. Even my late nectarines were ready by the end of August, the the early peaches were done by early July.Originally posted by MelanieSW View Post

Yes, the tree is from the same batch of volunteer seedlings as the one in the garden (in the ground) - that one was all done end Aug.Originally posted by ameno View PostI'm surprised it took this long to ripen. I'm surprised the fruit didn't rot on the tree by now.
Probably a sign that it is struggling in the container, it threw everything at that single fruit but really needs a better home.Location: London

Yesterday one orange mini red pepper & three green tomatoes (removed the two Cyril’s choice plants from the soil to make space for onion sets & potted up a French marigold that was there too & put it by my broccoli in the soil to keep whitefly away that I noticed the other day, squirted with garlic, soap water).Location : Essex

13 plants. Yield per plant wasn't great this year. I think I need to look into growing them further from the edges of the beds, as I think being close to the edges is holding them back (less root room, dry out quicker).Originally posted by Snoop Puss View Post^Excellent result, ameno. Congratulations. Out of interest, how many plants did you have?

Useful advice, thanks. The first year I grew squash, I grew two per station and had the most amazing result, but the land hadn't been used for donkey's years, so perhaps that was why they grew so well. I should just try one per station now and, as you say, give them more room for root spread.Originally posted by ameno View Post
