A couple of days ago I cut down two of my runner bean teepees & chop & dropped the plants on top of the plants roots. Watered my broccoli in the ground with nettle fertiliser. I’ve got a few varieties of tomato seeds soaking at the mo,black icicle, mountain princess, roughwood golden plum, black trifele & rosella, there’s a few more to save black cherry, taiko & violet jasper waiting in the kitchen. I grew Alicante but they’re very slow to ripen compared to the rest 🧐

I just mowed the back lawn & put some of the grass under my broccoli I watered with nettle feed earlier. Went to the garden centre for bird food & fertiliser this afternoon & also got my red onions (& some daffodils, crocus & alliums in creams & purples for the front garden & some yellow daffodils for the back garden).Location : Essex

Today I put little sticks in with my rocket,to stop the net touching the leaves,I cut back the grape vine a bit to expose the rest of the apples. I just noticed one of the broccoli plants that I cut down in the summer because it was dried out & not doing well, has grown some little leaves

Yesterday I cleared a couple of veg beds and planted out my Spring/hungry gap brassicas. Tuscan and garlic kale, Durham early Spring and Winter jewel cabbages, a single germinated collard greens plant and some Scilian violet cauliflowers, as an experiment as I had an open pack of seeds.
Harvested my lima, haricot and borlotto beans I grew for drying.
Cut back and cleared a few bits n bobs, weeded a few odds and sods.
Collected lots of rotting and manky looking windfalls along with two wheelbarrows full of stuff for the compost.
All in all I had a lovely time just being in the garden, pottering and plodding on.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Wednesday I weeded the front garden a bit but mainly reduced the size of the nettles, saw a green caterpillar so left that area for her to eat & home, the nettles I cut are in the garden on a tray to make fertiliser with. It rained a lot yesterday so there’s probably some ready made feed going on. I need to finish weeding & plant the flower bulbs.Location : Essex

I’m putting some tomato seeds to dry on paper plates for next year. Yesterday I noticed a leaf sticking out of my broccoli tent, what’s the point in all of the net when there’s a massive entrance
Flower bulbs I was going to plant in the front garden,I planted them in the back garden, alliums, cream daffodils,Dutch iris & crocus. A few days ago I made two bottles of nettle fertiliser & cut down a few tomato plants & the last two cucumber plants. Dead headed the geraniums & French marigolds. These anemone have been flowering a long time -
