    • Yesterday I potted up 4 more dahlias, potted on emir and watermelons and began pricking out cosmos and tagetes.

        • I found a squash bug on my courgette seedling this morning, encouraged it to vacate with a twig, which it did as reluctantly as I would hand over a suitcase full of chocolate, but luckily it had only munched a pea sized hole in one of the cotyledons so nothing my baby can't handle. It managed to get into my plastic greenhouse somehow but hasn't returned - keeping an eye out. Hovered around my container sugar snap pea and kale seeds, and the greenhouse cucumber seeds I sowed in the first week of May, hoping for any sign of growth (not yet), watered all the standby toms and the container strawberries which are flowering beautifully.

          • That looks a healthy plant Kateee

Nothing outdoors because of the rain apart from picking rhubarb.
Moved chard and spinach into the GH now it’s germinated.

            • Mostly emptying rainwater out of trays and wishing I had put everything in the greenhouse before the storms.

Also potted on some nice little chillies, was planning to plant stuff out but an afternoon to hide in the greenhouse.

                • I've been pricking out cosmos, tagetes and tithonia and planting up some liatris and lots of bareroot veronicas and salvias, all heavily reduced bargains from Farmer Gracy.

                  • Potted up some petunias, pelargoniums, verbena and marguerite, emptied the compost out of some overwintered bedding plants and used it to earth my bagged potatoes, pinched out snapdragons and popped the cuttings into compost. Did a little bit of weeding and put collars round some of my brassicas, more on order. Despite feeling like I've been busy I didn't do anything on my to do list!

                        • Worked really hard yesterday despite the heat. Sowed peas, beetroot (the ones I left in the ground from last year all bolted), sweet peas. Weeded and lifted a vinca that was struggling and lifted an angelic archangelica that was getting huge and shading other things. Have put in in a pot and will see if it survives. I also spent ages just moving things around in my greenhouse to make space for everything. I have now put my tomatoes, such, courgette etc in the greenhouse overnight. I really need to buy shading as it was in the 40s in there yesterday.
