  • Lettuce yesterday, along with potatoes (just enough for a couple of meals), the remainder of the overwintering onions, the first carrot (rinsed and eaten straight away) and more strawberries. Strawbs are abundant - ate a load on the plot and gave away four litres, still leaves loads for today's breakfast

      • Had a turtle around my first early potatoes and found enough to have for dinner. Can’t wait to try them.

        • The first tatties of the year for dinner. They were delicious. Unfortunately lots of my beetroot are bolting so harvested some as they won’t grow now. That’ll teach me to buy seedlings that aren’t my usual kind. Back to bolthardy for me.

                • Cabbage, Hot Wax peppers, strawberries and the first picking of courgettes. Couldn't get to the plot yesterday so double amount of strawbs today. Gave a bucket like this to the family next door before taking the photo.

                    • First tomatoes: a Cappricia, which was rather woody, and a couple of Gardener's Delight, which were very seedy.

So a start - I expect they will get better
I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

                          • Radishes, and the first of my early potatoes (Home Guard, 2.2kg from two plants. Should have dug them a little sooner, actually, they were quite large).
