    Eat them cold with salad dressing.
    The oil in the dressing stops them squeaking.
    They are nice with fish and chips.
    The flowers are just starting to set on mine.
    Near Worksop on heavy clay soil

      I usually just steam for a few minutes straight from the freezer, seem fine and taste good

        I love the squeaking!
        I hate it when they get mushy, which is what I found when out of desperation one winter I got a bag of frozen green beans...yukky mush.
        I've not frozen any of my own in case when I went to cook them they'd turn to mush. I'd be so disappointed.
