    Can anyone identify this fungi growing amongst my asparagus please.

        Fungi are best left to die back into the soil.
        The slime from dissolving fungi is very good for the soil.

          Thank you plot 70, will have a look. I will have a look at Common Ink Caps Mr Bones. Looks like they may be a blessing rather than a curse.

            Those are indeed inkcaps, but they are not common ink caps. Common inkcaps have grey heads, not buff.
            You said before they were probably growing on the wood in the compost you spread on your asparagus, so based on that and the colour I suspect they may well be Glistening Inkcap (Coprinellus micaceus). I had some in back garden growing on some rotten wood a few years back.

                Ameno, you are absolutely right. I’ve looked at the links given by Plot 70 (thanks plot) and the are exactly what I have.
