Fungi are best left to die back into the soil.
The slime from dissolving fungi is very good for the soil.

Those are indeed inkcaps, but they are not common ink caps. Common inkcaps have grey heads, not buff.
You said before they were probably growing on the wood in the compost you spread on your asparagus, so based on that and the colour I suspect they may well be Glistening Inkcap (Coprinellus micaceus). I had some in back garden growing on some rotten wood a few years back.Comment
