  • Cleaning insect mesh

I haven’t cleaned my veggie mesh/insect mesh for my raised beds. They’re now smelly and I don’t want to store them in the shed like this.

is there a suitable way to clean them prior to storage for winter?

I pop mine into the washing machine. Woollen or delicate wash 40c.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

If you put the netting on one of those net laundry bags it saves it getting tangled up.

Well gave them a wash. Smell nicer but sadly not much cleaner. Stored away for winter.

Most of my netting is black so not noticeable but the fleece is kind of grey now. Like you say at least it’s not smelly.
