  • Onion stems damaged

A few weeks ago whilst weeding the raised bed, I damaged some stems of some of my onions. I’ve let them sit but wonder whether I should have just removed the onions? Are they likely to rot in soil? There’s been no new green growth.

You won't get any new green growth from onions this time of year, anyway. They are sensitive to day length, and stop growing new leaves not long after the longest day.
I'd just leave them be for now. The leaves should start dying back into the bulb soon, anyway.
