climbing French bean dying

I've lost some this year. They have cropped nicely and then had enough. they just about avoided being frost-damaged (oddly, it wasn't the end ones, but some in the middle of the row) and now they are being frazzled.

Maybe I should grow continental beans more used to this foreign weather, but I'm worried they may make common cause with the garlic and overthrow me...
