On Friday I spent most of the gardening time moving the raised bed from the end of the patio onto the veg garden. The soil in he veg garden is very poor, being on top of old patio footings, and is also almost solid with tree roots and very dry. I decided to put 2 raised beds on there and move the blueberry bushes into one of them as they are getting pot bound and not producing much fruit. The old fruit cage is collapsing so something needed to be done and I have decided to replace it with a greenhouse. I may regret this later...
Also removed several large slugs from the tunnel at the allotment after Thursday's rain and harvested beans and carrots.

I was concerned that it might not fit if he couldn't put it right up against the old patio (where there is a 4 inch drop), but he said it would be fine.

Also spent a while on Sunday morning clearing up after (probably) kids pinched a melon and scattered bits of it all over the allotment. Of course they took the biggest and best one. As it was tied up in a net bag behind glass in the growhouse and there were human teethmarks in the remains, there is no possibility that it was an animal. Another melon was taken on Monday afternoon so I picked all the remaining ones even though they were not yet ripe.
