When I went to close the growhouse and hotbed covers at the allotment last night I discovered that the pigeons had stripped all the leaves off the newly planted peas . Threw an old bird net over them, but I need to think up a better solution as if the peas start climbing the netting I will not be able to harvest them.

Tomorrow and Wednesday don't look great weather-wise but I may well have to take the net off the tunnel and find some way of stopping the pigeons eating the broccoli, as snow is forecast.

So far I have left the net on the tunnel, but keeping a close eye on the weather. It looks very marginal for snow here although we may get sleet, but I hope the tunnel will be ok.

Harvested some rhubarb today and intending to harvest PSB tomorrow, weather permitting, otherwise no gardening time.

Go to the garden centre I’ve ran out of compost,I’ve got twenty pounds GC vouchers in my bag I’m really excited (I bought them as a gift for someone but then ended up buying them something else so I kind of bought them for myself ) i wonder if they’ve got little petunia plug plants,they have some nice coloured plug plants

I got the compost,bird seed & some more seeds for sowing….. Next I’ll pot on my marigolds & sow more seeds. I need to get the blowaway out the shed soon & mow the lawn

No gardening time on Thursday and yesterday was rather snowy. I'd left the net on the tunnel and thought I'd got away with it by Thursday night. But I woke up to a blizzard yesterday morning and had to run down and shake the snow off the tunnel net before it got too heavy. Also took the 1st April garden and allotment photos yesterday, sowed more peas and harvested PSB, carrots and rhubarb.
