  • Once the tomatoes are done...

I know this will seem a bit strange to you guys whose tomatoes are still green...

We are coming to the end of the tomatoes from our first lot of plants (Gardener's Delight grown in an unheated greenhouse)... although we've still got about 5 plants producing edible toms and another 5 or so with green ones on...

Once they have finished fruiting, do you just pull up the plants and compost them?

    Thanks!

Well, I do as long as they have not been struck down with blight.

Eeek... how will I know? The leaves are starting to yellow slightly on a couple of the almost done plants... is that ok?

Hi O.W.G, they sound O.K. the leaves do go yellow when they are dying off, you'd probably know something was wrong if you got blight - you get black/dark brown splodges on the stems, leaves & fruits & they shrivel up & look a right mess!

Phew! None of that in the greenhouse!

Now, if I could just sort out the flippin' fruit trees!
