why can't i grow leeks??

    i did something diffrent this year and sowed them in a black bucket full of compost in feb and left them untill they needed to be put in there final position - this was shown on gardeners world by monty and does the trick and saves space for another crop.

    p.s i keep my bucket in a cold greenhouse to germinate.

      I ordered mine from the internet, and they were delivered when they needed planting. They came packaged well, and I got them in the ground 3 days later...

      You probably won't get any this year like this, but could order them for next year?

        Yup, anything like this works a treat. You can also take them out in batches to put into final positions, so that you have lots at different stages to pick from.
