I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but the Morrison's buckets are not very big and you are going to struggle with some of the vegetables that have been mentioned here. I have them and am talking from experience.

You're most likely to succeed with..

some small carrots and beetroot - don't try and cram too many in, though
    spring onions
    lettuce (single plants)
kohl rabi to be harvested young
mixed oriental greens to be cut for young leaves

Try one potato tuber per pot, but the yield will be small and you will need to water a lot.

Avoid courgettes & squash - there's just not enough room. And it's a bit too late now anyway.

    Stick to small and simple.

(Oh, and don't be fooled into trying the round, ball shaped carrots such as Parmex - they were bred for shallow soil, not containers, despite what people might tell you. You will get a much better yield if you stick to Amsterdam Forcing or Nantes types of normal carrots.)

I've been growing my Nantes in containers and they have been great so far.
